Is PHP still worth learning?

The answer

PHP is still widely used, and hosting for it is easy to find. The PHP project publishes supported versions, with each release branch receiving two years of active support followed by two years of security fixes, so the language continues to be developed. Whether it is right for you depends on your goals: it suits website and web application work well, but compare it with other languages if you are aiming at a different field, such as mobile apps.
